Dubai Airports issues advisory ahead of busy summer break, Eid holidays
Dubai is gearing up to welcome 2.4 million passengers over 11 days starting June 24
Dubai Airports has issued a passenger advisory alerting travelers regarding Dubai International getting exceptionally busy over the next two weeks as a result of schools breaking for summer & the Eid Al Adah holidays. According to the operator, some 2.4 million passengers are expected to pass through DXB between June 24 and July 4, with average daily traffic reaching a high of 214,000 passengers.
Some of the busiest days are expected to be July 2nd with daily traffic exceeding 235,000 passengers; and similar numbers are anticipated at the airport over the Eid Al Adah weekend of July 8 and 9.
While Dubai Airports is working closely with airlines, control authorities, and commercial as well as, service partners to ensure a smooth airport, Passengers are urged to follow a few simple tips to avoid the holiday rush.
- Passengers should be aware of the latest travel regulations for the destination they are travelling to and ensure that they have all the necessary documents before reaching the airport.
- For those travelling with their families, children over the age of 12 can use Smart Gates to speed up the passport control process.
- If travelers are flying out of Terminal 1, it is advisable to arrive at the airport at least 3 hours before the departure. Passengers can use online check-in wherever available to save time.
- Weigh your luggage at home, check documents in advance, and be prepared for security checks- this can help save a lot of time while at the airport.
- Friends and families of passengers are encouraged to use the airport’s designated car parks or valet service to receive guests in comfort as access to the arrivals forecourt in Terminal 3 is limited to public transport and other authorized vehicles.
